FLUX ep. 29 // Behind the Mic: Maja & Roupen

This week's Flux episode is, simultaneously, a joyful and colorful Indie/Electronic playlist and a trinitarian memorial between me and two of my funkiest friends from Art and Design school in Aalto university, Finland. Slovenian graphic designer Maja who shares the playlist and Lebanese new media student Roupen whom it's hard to imagine the existence of Flux Radio Mix without his kind helps especially in its first year.

Session was recorded on a cold Friday night in Helsinki, therefore I prepared playlist in spirit of Friday night fever. As overture to my playlist, I use more easy going song and later on more going-out music comes on. I chose music than I have been listening lately, some I have been introduced in Helsinki, some I know for a long time.

Playlist starts with amazing twin sisters with great sense of combining English and the language of Yoruba (Ibeyi) ... the most interesting female performer in industry at the moment (FKA twigs) ... beard, soulful vocals, electronic rush what more we need? (Chet Faker) … badass Nord (MØ) ... peculiar love (Mac DeMarco) … tranquil voice from Sweden (José González) ... featherlight pop, maybe more appropriate for Saturday's hangover (Rhye) ... the hardest working band in industry (Future Islands) ... my fav band for some time now (Alt-J (∆)) ...  acid memories (Tame Impala) ... 20 and 23-year-old boys taking the world in their hands (Disclosure) ... 90s comeback (Cyril Hahn) ... had a blast at concert (Caribou, October 2014 in Helsinki with Amir and Oda)... and finishes with the taste of Slovenia (Moveknowledgement). “
